Due to a decreasing number of COVID-19 cases and increasing vaccination rates, The State Of New Jersey has removed restrictions regarding social distancing and capacity levels. The State has decreed that wearing a mask is optional, however, we highly encourage the wearing of masks at all indoor public events, especially in light of spiking numbers of the Delta variant.
As we continue to closely monitor the communications and recommendations from the CDC and the NJ Department of Health, the Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) has implemented the following COVID rules for its staff, and guidance for its audience members:
STAFF
All staff working in public areas will wear masks at all times. Other staff members not in direct contact with theater patrons will not be required to wear masks. Staff members working in or visiting educational facilities where masks are required for students, will be required to wear masks.
AUDIENCE MEMBERS
Masks are suggested though not mandatory for all audience members (guests), especially those who are not vaccinated, when attending JCTC indoor and outdoor events. Masks will be provided free of charge to any guest that needs one.
Guests who show symptoms of illness prior to a performance, including elevated temperature, are asked to contact us immediately to cancel their tickets. (Refunds will be given if rescheduling to a different date is impossible.)
INDOOR FACILITIES
Hand sanitizer will be available in different locations throughout our indoor and outdoor locations.
- Providing hand sanitizing stations for attendees.
- Rigorously cleaning and disinfecting the venues.
- Only disposable utensils and cups will be used to serve food and beverage.
- Installing a UV air purification system at White Eagle Hall.
ONLINE EVENTS
Some of our in-person events will be livestreamed for audience members unable to attend in person. JCTC audience members, patrons, and partners are regularly informed of the numerous virtual options presented by JCTC for shows that are shown FB Live, on zoom or on-demand online.
