Jersey City Theater Center is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, as our target.

Measures We Have Taken

Keyboard-accessible navigation for the main menu, with a “skip to content” link

Visible keyboard focus indicators throughout the site

Semantic landmark regions (navigation, main content, footer) for screen reader navigation

Descriptive labels and roles for assistive technology on interactive elements

Live status announcements for screen reader users during dynamic content loading (e.g., the podcast episode list)

Reduced motion for visitors who set that preference in their operating system

Alt text for images, populated through our content management system

Known Limitations

Some embedded third-party content – such as social media widgets – may not fully conform to these standards, as it is outside our direct control. Ticket purchases take place on our ticketing partner’s own website (Eventim), which you’re redirected to; its accessibility is managed by them, not us. Donations are processed directly on this site using PayPal’s secure payment fields, or a brief PayPal/Venmo popup window – not a redirect to another website. We continue to test and improve keyboard accessibility across the site on an ongoing basis.
